Kim Dotcom: Caught in the Web (2017)

New Zealand/Germany/Hong Kong/US
Director: Annie Goldson; Cast: Kim Dotcom, Mona Dotcom, Lawrence Lessig, Gabriella Coleman, Jimmy Wales, John Key, Smudo, Glenn Greenwald, Jonathan T. Taplin

This is the fascinating story of Kim Schmitz, AKA Kim Dotcom, the infamous founder of the file hosting service known as Megaupload. As a successful entrepreneur and wannabe celebrity, Kim and company thrived financially on the fringes of the internet. Once living the high life, Kim’s financial and personal affairs turned sour after his home was raided in an operation that seemed politically motivated. Facing extradition to the US to face a litany of charges, including criminal copyright infringement, Kim Dotcom is a fascinating and complicated figure whose story is far from over (Klaus Ming August 2017).
