Strong Island (2017)

US 107m, Colour
Director: Yance Ford; Cast: Yance Ford, Harvey Walker, Kevin Myers, Lauren Ford, David Breen, Ed Boyar

Strong Island is a somber documentary about the wrongful shooting of William Ford Jr., and the racially motivated acquittal of the accused. Consisting of a series of interviews with family members and friends, this is an unhurried and reflective film that explores the culture of racism in America and the lasting impact of the grand jury’s decision on the filmmaker and her family (Klaus Ming February 2018).
