Ready Player One is a Willy Wonka-like science fiction adventure film set in the near future where virtual reality in the OASIS has become the focus of most people’s lives. As the film’s main character, Wade Watts teams up with fellow virtual friends to unlock three secret keys left behind by the game’s now deceased creator. As a non-stop nostalgic homage to the 1970 and 80s, Player One oozes with pop culture references in this surprisingly melancholic feature (Klaus Ming July 2018).
