The Bad Batch (2016)

US 115m, Colour
Director: Ana Lily Amirpour; Cast: Suki Waterhouse, Jason Momoa, Jim Carrey, Giovanni Ribisi, Keanu Reeves

The Bad Batch is a dark post apocalyptic love story with elements of black comedy and horror. Following her critically acclaimed debut film A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014), Amirpour’s second feature film is not quite strange enough to forgive the near lack of plot. Unfortunately, the film’s most interesting characters are secondary, including a dentally challenged mute hermit played by the always interesting Jim Carrey (Klaus Ming July 2018).
