There are a handful of movies that are a celebration of food, and among these I have two favourites: Babette’s Feast (1987) and now, Big Night. Compared to Babette’s Feast, which is a drama with wry comedic elements, Big Night is a wonderfully farcical comedy about two Italian immigrant brothers whose life ambitions are contrasted in their failing restaurant which serves magnificent food, but which is under appreciated by their crass American clientele (Klaus Ming December 2018).
