Reminiscent of The Big Short (2015) in style and tone, Vice is a dark comedic biographical film about former Vice President Dick Cheney, who was arguably the most influential man in the White House during the tenure of President George W. Bush. As an indictment of the corruption in American politics and the billionaires who wield the real power in Washington, Vice is also a chilling reminder of Cheney’s central role in the decision to invade Iraq. A highly divisive film that explicitly acknowledges its political leaning, Vice is a cleverly constructed political satire that reminds us of Cheney’s lasting impact on America and the world (Klaus Ming January 2019).
