Mandy (2018)

Belgium/US 121m, Colour
Director: Panos Cosmatos; Cast: Nicolas Cage, Andrea Riseborough, Linus Roache, Ned Dennehy, Olwen Fouéré, Richard Brake, Bill Duke

Set in 1983, Mandy is a bizarre drug-fuelled gore-fest, and perhaps the most violent and cringe-worthy revenge movie yet made. Out for blood, Cage gives one of his most crazed performances (and that’s saying a lot) as he hunts down and kills the members of a cult who tortured and murdered his girlfriend. In an ever growing list of bad date night movies, Mandy is a nightmarish film that seems likely to become an art-house “classic” (Klaus Ming October 2019).
