Snowpocalypse 2020

With Oscar season here, and only a few movies watched in 2019, I was feeling the pressure to play catch-up with this year’s nominated movies. “Luckily” we live in St. John’s Newfoundland, and last Friday a blizzard was headed our way – which we were told would likely result in a “snow day”. Well, last Friday January 17th indeed turned out to be one of those days (and so is today!) Unfortunately, we’re still trying to dig out, and with the City still under a State of Emergency, we’ve been told to stay in our homes until further notice.  On the plus side, I’ve had the time to watch most of the nominated movies. We have a lot of snow: the black rectangle below the street light is the roof of our car (Klaus Ming January 2020).

I did see that Eastern Canada got a lot of snow, but this is just ridiculous. Maybe you can send some of it over here, we hardly had freezing at night this winter and the pollen season has already begun, a month early.

It;s been crazy. Our City has been shut down under a state of emergency since last Saturday. It’s only been the last couple of days that the authorities have let food stores, pharmacies, etc., open (from 10-6pm).
