Little Women (2019)

US 135m, Colour
Director: Greta Gerwig; Cast:Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern, Timothée Chalamet, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, James Norton, Louis Garrel, Chris Cooper, Meryl Streep

As the seventh film production of Louisa May Alcott’s classic book of the same name, Gerwig’s lavash adaptation of the lives of four sisters continues to be as popular as it was in 1868 when the original story was published. The film’s rapid paced and often overlapping dialogue is periodically confusing when combined with the non-linear nature of the story that employs extended flashbacks for character development. Despite the chaotic nature of the screenplay, Little Women’s continued success as a coming-of-age story in film is a testament to the quality of the source material, and Alcott’s talent as a writer (Klaus Ming February 2020).

I’m a Gerwig fan, so I’m genuinely interested in seeing this.
