Pig (2021)

US 92m, Colour
Director: Michael Sarnoski; Cast: Nicolas Cage, Alex Wolff, Adam Arkin

Living a content life alone in the woods with his truffle hunting pig, Rob Feld is assaulted one evening and wakes up to find that his foraging friend has been stolen. With the set-up resembling a John Wick plot, the remainder of the film is an odd and slowly paced let-down. As we follow Cage’s character from one lead to another, we finally learn that Feld is a lost cause, much like his missing pig. Unfortunately, the film fails to generate much sympathy for Feld, and the pig’s role is little more than a cameo (Klaus Ming December 2021).
