Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)

US 113m, Colour
Director: Adam Wingard; Cast: Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Julian Dennison, Lance Reddick, Kyle Chandler, Demián Bichir

With a nonsensical plot and forgettable cast of human characters, Godzilla vs. Kong still manages to be entertaining owing to the simple fact that Godzilla and King Kong are involved in some of the most visually spectacular battles ever put to “film”. The largely irrelevant story that surrounds the combatants involves something, something, hollow earth, reverse gravitation, yada yada, you get the picture, and then Kong stands on an aircraft carrier and punches Godzilla in the face! As a monster movie fan, there’s enough action to keep you interested for most of this film (Klaus Ming December 2021).
