NOPE is a science fiction thriller that promises more than it delivers. Essentially a monster movie, we discover along with the film’s main characters that there is an extraterrestrial entity hiding in plain sight. As a circus attraction with a taste for horses, the entity seems content until it is challenged by humans who want to record it for the world to see. NOPE has an interesting premise with some fun twists and dark humor, but probably reveals too much, or not enough – I’m not sure (Klaus Ming November 2022).

It is not up there with Get Out. It feels a little too ambitious in terms of themes considering what it delivers.
I agree, I was hoping for more. It seemed to lose its way.
