Bullet Train (2022)

US 126m, Colour
Director: David Leitch; Cast: Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sanada, Michael Shannon, Benito A. Martínez Ocasio, Sandra Bullock

Based on the 2010 novel “Maria Beetle” the second novel in a “hitman” trilogy, written by Kōtarō Isaka, Bullet Train is one of the most entertaining action comedy films in recent years. Starring Brad Pitt as a “gun for hire” who has an aversion for firearms, the film relies heavily on its ensemble cast and has a surprisingly clever screenplay. As there are only so many ways to fight aboard a train, the film’s pervasively dark humor keeps the almost incessant action more interesting than it might be otherwise (Klaus Ming December 2022).
